Dharamshala: Speaker of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, announced the election of the new Auditor General during the 162nd meeting of the Standing Committee on 26 August 2024.

Following the completion of the previous Auditor General Pema Dadul Arya on 4 May 2023, as per the sub-clause 1 (a) and (b) of Clause (107) Article (X) enshrined in the Charter of Tibetans in Exile, a three membered Selection Committee proposed nominee for the post of new Auditor-General of Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). The nominees were General Manager of TCV Enterprises Limited, Lhakpa Gyaltsen, and Geshe Ngagrampa Tenzin Wangyal.

The members of the Standing Committee voted between the two proposed candidates and Lhakpa Gyaltsen secured two-third of majority vote, claiming the position of the new Auditor General of the Office of the Auditor General.

Synopsis of Curriculum Vitae

• 1980 He completed his schooling at Tibetan Children’s Village School.
• 1985 Graduated from the College of Accounting.
• 1985 to 1991 Worked as an auditor in the Office of Auditor General
• 1991 to 1996 Worked for Amnye Machen Institute, Dharamshala (India) as an Office Superintendent and Accountant.
• 1996 to 2000 Worked as a Director at the Nepal Branch of the Office of Auditor General, CTA on contract.
• May 2000 to Nov. 2000 Worked as a Chief Accountant at Norbulingka Institute of Tibetan Culture.
• November 2001 Established a private accounting firm and audited many CTA organisations with the consent from the Office of Auditor General, CTA.
• Feb. 2002 to Feb. 2004 Worked as a Chief Accountant at the Department of Home, CTA, on a contractual basis.
• From 2014 Working as the General Manager of TCV Enterprises Limited.
